Takeaways
The surgical protocol for Augmentation in the aesthetic zone can be performed with or without a provisional
- When using a provisional maryland bridge – Augma Shield™ is placed on top of the graft, but suturing is not mandatory as the provisional holds the graft and coverage in place for the healing period
- When the area is left exposed and nothing is placed on top – Augma Shield™ must be sutured following the suture sequence to prevent graft wash out
Step by Step
- Extraction and socket debridement
- Activate the syringe by pushing until the first piston reaches the line
- Eject the cement into the site
- Press firmly over the cement for 3 seconds using dry sterile unfolded gauze and finger pressure. Followed by another 3-second press with a periosteal elevator
- Remove excess material. After cleaning, use a damp gauze to moisten the area
- Suture papillae to papillae
- Prepare Augma Shield™ by cutting it to size
- Place Augma Shield™, and press firmly for 5 seconds
- Secure Augma Shield™ in place with cross stitch sutures
