The patient is a healthy, 66-year-old female. The inflammatory changes (radicular cyst) appear 6 months after re-endodontic treatment using microscopy and setting the bridge of teeth #44 (28), #45 (29), and #47 (31). She experiences occasional pain and discomfort.
Treatment plan involves root resection of tooth #44 (28), with backfill of the root canal with the MTA. Cyst enucleation is confirmed with histopathology examination. Bond Apatite® (1/2 cc) fill the defect.
6 years follow up shows good healing and no clinical symptoms. Moreover, the patient’s post-op experience included only half a day of pain and one day of swelling.
Bond Apatite® filled the bone defect with less invasive techniques compared to traditional grafting materials.
