Bimaxillary Immediate Loading with Keratinized Tissue and Bone Gain with Augma Bone Cement – Part 1 – Maxilla

The patient is in her early 40’s, with no major health problems.

In the maxilla she has a severe periodontal problem associated with teeth #22 (10) and #24 (12) leading to tooth migration, keratinised tissue loss on the buccal of #24 (12) and tooth mobility.

The treatment plan involved two surgeries, in the upper and lower jaw. The surgeries are performed on separate dates to avoid too much chair time and morbidity.

After clinical and radiographic assessment, it was decided to perform extraction of teeth #22 (10) and #24 (12). This included immediate implant placement and socket preservation with Augma bone cement, and immediate provisional crown loading. Tooth #24 (12) presented an extra challenge with a huge loss of  buccal keratinized tissue. This determined an extra layer of Bond Apatite® and Augma Shield™  to recover the lost keratinized tissue. Four months later, rehabilitation was done on both implants with Zirconia ceramic crowns.
