Apicoectomy #11 (8), #12 (7) with 8 Year Follow-Up

A healthy 46-year-old woman presented with intermittent pain and discomfort in the right maxilla. Imaging revealed small cysts associated with teeth #11 (8) and #12 (7), which had each undergone endodontic treatment twice.

Because the cysts persisted two years after the second treatment, the clinician performed root-end resections, prepared the canals, and backfilled them with MTA.

The clinician also removed the cysts, and histopathologic examination confirmed radicular cysts. The resulting bone defect was filled with 1 cc of Bond Apatite®. At the eight-year follow-up, the site showed excellent healing and bone remodeling.
