The patient is an 89-year-old female, ASA III. She presented with an unstable lower denture and pain on mastication. She has an atrophic mandible. Part one was to place interforamina implants (3.3×10) to allow a fixed restoration and take the load off the tissue. The second part was to place posterior implants (5×6) to allow posterior connection and molar function. Only viable place was at the retro molar pad area.
Here is where the benefit of Augma comes into play. No bone reduction was done due to atrophy. As the bone was prepared it cracked (but did not brake), Augma allowed the bone to be repaired and regenerated.
