Socket Preservation and Intra Crestal Sinus Lift

This is a healthy 70 year old woman who presented with diffuse palatal swelling and mild pain in the upper left first molar. She was concerned that the palatal swelling might be abnormal. CBCT showed a completely resorbed palatal wall and furcation involvement. The tooth was sectioned and removed without any palatal or buccal flap. Augma was placed with compression palatally and apically followed by placement with suture and a collagen plug. After 4 months there was complete remodeling including a new palatal wall. An implant was placed along with internal sinus lift using Augma protocol.
